What is your commercial flooring budget including removal of current flooring and subfloor preparation (if applicable) for new flooring and installation?
Be aware that replacing your existing flooring can be an expensive process. Carpet tiles for example are an excellent option from a long term maintenance and flexibility of design perspective, but there are broadloom carpet options of comparable quality available at a lower installed cost. The cheaper vinyls have a hidden on going maintenance cost that can eclipse the initial cost difference.
Once your existing flooring is removed, do you have a surface suitable for the application of your new flooring?
This matters because if the floor must be clean and smooth and have a moisture level that doesn't exceed the manufacturer's specified maximums, floor preparation costs can sometimes be higher than the flooring product itself.
What is the size of your commercial property?
Flooring is priced either per lineal metre; (3.66m wide for broadloom carpet, 2m wide for vinyl), or per square metre for vinyl or carpet tiles.
What type of environment is your commercial premises?
For example, in a cafe it is more suitable to have safety vinyl flooring in the kitchen area where there are likely to be slippery spills (nb - cheaper safety vinyls are harder to clean) and a more attractive heterogeneous vinyl with a plank design in the dining area providing a product which is easy to clean, still relatively slip resistant but doesn't look like it should be in a factory! Whereas carpet is more suited to an office where a quieter, more inviting environment is needed.
